Kitten Mondays! Topshop Gypsy Night

Pin It Now!
It's Kitten Monday again and as always lets start off with some pics of Toasty the kitten doing her thing.
There's something borderline "Barry White" about this pic to me. ;)

Ah it's a tough life for you isn't it Toasty?

Zzz...All that relaxing can tucker a kitten out.

Ok, nail polish time!

Remember a couple of posts back when I swatched Barry M Black Multiglitter? It was such a waste of money, disappointing polish. Meh :(

If you are considering buying it so should really take a look at the pics in my post before making that decision here.

Well, good news! I have now found a black polish with holo glitter that actually looks the same on the nail as it does in the bottle. It's Topshop Gypsy Night, and not only does it have holo glitter and microglitter it also has flakies that flash red/orange to green. That's the kind of formulation we like! ;)

In the pics below I used 3 thin coats but no topcoat. The polish is so glossy on it's own that you don't need it.

I think it's a super easy way to get the background for a "Galaxy nails" look. I should really try some galaxy nail art since I've got a whole collection of them on Pinterest.

Below is an out of focus shot to try and show off the holo glitter. It's much more sparkly IRL but it was cloudy so I could get much in the way of sparkle which I tried to photograph this.

If you guys have any recommendations for black glittery polishes or your galaxy nail art I'd love to see it! Topshop Gypsy Night is £6.00 (well worth it in my opinion) and is available in Topshop stores and online here.

DUPE ALERT!!! Models Own Blooming Pink IS Chanel Tentation!

Pin It Now!
Hi everyone, today I have a very exciting post for you! I have found an exact dupe of Chanel Tentation! This colour is a gorgeous full on orchid fuschia pink with a red shimmer finish and it's a new polish released for summer 2012.

For my dupe mission I when to the Chanel counter with clean, naked nails and swatched a few of the colours. Then off I went in search of a perfect match amongst all the affordable polish brands I could find and....

I found it! It's Models Own Blooming Pink. It's a dead ringer for Chanel Tentation, right down to the shimmer! Mission Accomplished (victory dance)!

The formula for Blooming Pink is just as good as Tentation in my opinion. No problems with application, good dry time and no streaks. I used 2 coats for Tentation and Blooming Pink in the pics below, but you could get away with one. Great for days when you're in a hurry.

Here's a few shots without the labeling. As in the pics above, Tentation is on my ring finger and Blooming Pink is on the rest.

ahem, excuse the kitten fluff ;)

Can you tell the difference? I can't, YAY!

I really enjoy doing these posts and finding dead on dupes of high end polishes for you guys! Love this colour too, it's really summery, perfect for pedicures as well as manicures and will look good on all skin tones. Nice job Models Own!

If you are interested in some more photos of Chanel Tentation (in the sunshine - I had no sunshine :( ), The Beauty Look Book has a post on this polish here. Chanel Tentation retails for £18.00 and Models Own Blooming Pink retails for £5.00 on the Models Own website here and is available in larger Boots stores and Boots online store here.

Kitten Mondays - Barry M Copper

Pin It Now!
Happy kitten Monday everyone! I hope you are enjoying the Jubliee Bank Holiday if you are in the UK.

This is how Toast sleeps 5% of the time.

This is how she sleeps the rest of the time!
Hehe, she's a true Raggie all right, so funny and floppy.

Today I have for you Barry M Copper. As the names suggests it is a copper coloured glitter polish.

It has a subtle colour shift from copper to bronze, very pretty. I wasn't sure if it would suit my skin colour but it goes surprisingly well. I think that would suit both fairer and darker skin tones than mine.

I used 2 coats of this polish for the pics, but you could get away with one. The glitter is so dense, and the application was a breeze. Nice one Barry M!

For my kitty inspired theme today I choose tiger print. It's the perfect companion to a coppery polish and it was so easy to do. I used my fateful Rimmel Black Out and Bundle Monster plate BM-223.

Barry M Copper is available in Superdrug and Boots for £3.99. It isn't up on the Barry M or Superdrug websites yet, but I'll update this post when it is.

I hope you liked this Kitten Monday post. I've got some exciting dupe posts coming up next this week so stay tuned. ;)
