I typically only catch on to trends after they've passed and so I completely missed the whole dark blue nail polish trend this winter. Luckily some polish colours are instant classics (for me at least).
Outdoors
Indoors
Barry M Indigo is interesting because it is a true indigo (purple toned deep blue). It's quite hard to capture the colour accurately on camera. In sunlight is leans more purple and indoors it's more blue. I haven't seen this colour anywhere else, so definitely one for your collection if you like blues. The formula was great and the colour was opaque in two coats. One thing I love about the formula is that it dries ultra glossy. These next pics are without a top coat.
No top coat and loads of shine!
Now I've heard that Barry M polishes supposedly stain your nails so I made sure to wear a base coat (L'Oreal Resist and Shine).
Although I love it on it's own, I wanted to try and do something with a lighter blue on top. I ended up going for simple french tips. I used Rimmel I ♥ Lasting Finish in Azure for the tips, and finished off with a coat of Seche Vite for a super super glossy finish.
This is my first foray into funky french territory and it's quite fun. I can see myself trying this kind of look out with all kinds of colour combinations. Barry M Indigo retails for £2.99 and is available from BarryM.com here. Rimmel Azure is £2.99 and is also available from Superdrug here.
How to do like your french tip manis? Classic or funky?
Barry m indigo is one of my favorite colours.
ReplyDeleteI'm well on my way to collect all the Barry M blue polishes. ;)
DeleteThis is a great color! I so wish Barry M was available in the states. I cannot wait to find someone to swap with. Great swatching :)
